The visual arts program at Bak boasts both breadth and depth. Offerings include drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, mix media, and both dark room and digital photography. Students entering the program are assessed both in their skill levels in various mediums as well as their ability to conceptually or creatively arrive at solutions to specific design problems. In other words, careful observation and accurate rendering is equal to creative visual problem-solving. Our students here are immersed in hands-on activity while we constantly expose them to art history, critique, and contemporary themes in art that attempt to describe the human condition. We try to devise ways to disguise learning as fun, productive classroom participation.
